Researchers in Japan have developed technology for holograms you can actually touch. Until now, it was “not safe to come into contact with such a holographic display, as ionized air molecules… burn human skin” (Russon, 2015).
Additionally, Aerial Burton has developed technology that can emit text and images in the air without the aid of a screen. They cite the need for getting emergency information quickly to the public as the impetus for development. But the application of this technology for marketing purposes would be revolutionary. Text and images mid-air that you can touch? Will we live to see the day?
